But what, you ask, is Mustbefunnyism?
As a start...check out...Derek Brownlee's http://mustbefunny.org/
...A Faith for the New Millennium...It's three words: Must be funny. It's the name, the whole doctrine and belief system, the one commandment, the discipline practiced by the faithful, the spiritual goal...
...then consider the following...(after which, there is more on Haha)...
“Must be funny” according to common usage is either a descriptive phrase as…
“The people are laughing so the joke must be funny.”
…or as an imperative, as…
“You must be funny young man or you won’t go to heaven!”

Maybe…in order to derive the true meaning of the words “must be funny”, all reference to consensus usage needs to be dropped. This may be accomplished as follows…must be funny, henceforth becomes…
mustbefunny…three words are fused into one and the heavens tremble.
So…mustbefunny belief and religion may be called mustbefunnyism, and its followers are mustbefunnyists.
When people engage in mustbefunny practices they are said to be mustbefunnying. When people interact according to mustbefunny principles they are mustbefunnying each other. Someone walking a certain way may be mustbefunnying down the street. When people make love a certain way they are mustbefunnying each other. Raising kids according to mustbefunny ideals is said to be mustbefunnying the kids, etc.
Mustbefunnyist philospphical writings, rants, political platforms, manuals, etc. all only exist in “Cliffs Notes”/cheat sheet formats. Everything has to be stated in “25 words or less” or it is automatically invalid.
“The world may crumble in chaos but mustbefunny moves steadfastly and inexorably on its way.”
ANON
Mustbefunny is also a noun with many, all purpose meanings…
“When in San Francisco be sure to see the Golden Gate Mustbefunny.”
“The Pope heads up the Catholic Mustbefunny.”
…can be used as an expletive…
“Go to hell you mother mustbefunnier!”
“God mustbefunny it!”
“Kiss my mustbefunny!”…or…
“Kiss my haha!”
“Seriousness is the only refuge of the shallow.” OSCAR WILDE
“Everything you do is Zen.” BODHIDHARMA
“Everything you do is mustbefunny.” ANON
or…”Everything you do is haha.”
“The great mystery is a secret, but it’s known to a few people. They will never say what dada is.” TRISTAN TZARA
…or…”they will never say what haha is.”
On to Haha...
NOTES ON DADA and its NEWEST INCARNATION in the 21st Century…
…which has come to be known as HAHA.
Haha is an adjunct to, outgrowth from and the art and theater division of the quasi/pseudo/neo-post organized religion…must be funny…
For those not familiar with DADA...
From Artlex…

Dada - An early twentieth century art movement which ridiculed contemporary culture and traditional art forms. The movement was formed to prove the bankruptcy of existing style of artistic expression rather than to promote a particular style itself. It was born as a consequence of the collapse during World War I of social and moral values which had developed to that time. Dada artists produced works which were nihilistic or reflected a cynical attitude toward social values, and, at the same time, irrational — absurd and playful, emotive and intuitive, and often cryptic. Less a style than a zeitgeist, Dadaists typically produced art objects in unconventional forms produced by unconventional methods. Several artists employed the chance results of accident as a means of production, for instance. Literally, the word dada means several things in several languages: it's French for "hobbyhorse" and Slavic for "yes yes." Some authorities say that the name Dada is a nonsensical word chosen at random from a dictionary.
Many artists associated with this movement later became associated with Surrealism. Many other movements have been influenced by Dada, including Pop Art and Fluxus.
And from Scoop Nisker in CRAZY WISDOM…
“Out of the imagination of some early-twentieth-century artists came a madcap, multidimensional demigod known as Dada, which bears an uncanny resemblance to the Tao. The Dadaist movement was founded in Zurich during WW I by the French poet and self-proclaimed “literary terrorist” Tristan Tzara. Although Dadaist poetry and manifestos often sound like a takeoff of the Tao, we have no evidence that Tzara or other Dadaists were acquainted with Taoist writings. Perhaps a mysterious transmission took place.
“Dada is a quantity of life in transparent, effortless and gyratory transformation.”
Tristan Tzara, 1918

“Tao never does anything;
Yet through it all things are done.”
Lao Tzu, 5th Century B.C.
“Logic is a complication. Logic is always false.
DADA suggests 2 solutions: NO MORE LOOKS!
NO MORE WORDS! Stop looking! Stop talking!”
Tristan Tzara
“Those who know don’t talk.
Those who talk don’t know.”
Lao Tzu
“The acts of life have neither beginning nor end.
Everything happens in a very idiotic fashion.
That’s why everything is the same.
Simplicity is called dada.”
Tristan Tzara
Nisker goes on to say…
“In spite of their similarities, we must remember that Taoism has lasted for centuries and is ranked with the world’s major philosophies. Dadaism is just bombast, a flippant artistic statement. Still, there is crazy wisdom in Dada.”
Substitute Haha for Dada in the above and you have the latest, “up to the minute” expression of this deep and unfathomable teaching…Dada 2.0, if you will. The latest operating system for your reality computer…maybe...
...HENCE...HAHA MUSTBEFUNNYISM
